Open Case Document dialog

How to fill in the dialog box fields...

Fill in the dialog box fields as indicated below. You may also accept presented default values and options. Disregard grayed fields and options. When done, press Ok to continue. Or press Cancel to abort. If the file you want to open is a foreign file, this dialog may open a second time, with those fields active that allow you to specify the information which is needed when importing foreign file formats. If you are importing a foreign file that contains insufficient layout information, another dialog will follow that allows you to specify a case layout manually.

case document file
Use this file field to specify the name and location of the file you want to open. You may specify Wintrack case files (.WTR), ASBA Wild & Leitz™ files (.RAW), HVS Image™ files (.HVS, .WET, .DRY), Watermaze™ for Windows data files (.WMD), EYE files (.EYE), and text format files (.TXT).

Window
Use this radio button field to select a size for the new window:

  • normal = default size assigned by Windows™,
  • fit to data = automatic fit of data to be shown,
  • maximize = maximize new window,
  • minimize = minimize as icon,
  • none = do not display a window.

smoothing frame [s]
If you are importing HVS Image™ or Watermaze™ for Windows data files with noisy data, use this number field to specify a time frame for running average smoothing of the imported path data. Type 0 to skip smoothing.

trials expected
If you are importing foreign files, use this number field to indicate how many trials you are expecting in the file. You can also enter 0 if you do not know, but entering the appropriate value helps to check completeness and integrity of data.

sampling interval [s]
If you are importing foreign files, use this number field to indicate a sampling interval:

  • ASBA Wild & Leitz™ and EYE data files require manual specification of the sampling interval.
  • HVS Image™ and Watermaze™ for Windows data files are assumed to be sampled at 0.1 s (sampling rate switch on tracker set to SLOW), but you can specify a different interval to trigger resampling of the data during import. Type 0.1 to skip resampling.
  • If the text format file you are importing contains time stamp columns enter 0, else enter the appropriate sampling interval.

experiment file
When importing Watermaze™ for Windows data files (.WMD), use this file field to specify the name and location of the Watermaze™ for Windows experiment file (.WME or .WMU) which Wintrack needs to access to retrieve goal position information.
