How can I acquire data for Wintrack?
The program is designed for off-line path analyis and cannot directly process video signals. Therefore, a separate tracking system is needed. Wintrack can import data that were saved as TAB delimited text (e.g. from MS Excel) and interfaces to the following tracking systems:
- ASBA Wild&Leitz BEO files are recongized automatically by the Open Case Document command.
- HVS Image (Water 2020) and Watermaze for Windows files are recongized automatically by the Open Case Document command.
- Noldus Ethovision 1.52 - 1.96 and 2.30 experiments (Path, event data, object surface area) are imported using the Acquire Ethovision Experiment command.
- TSE VideoMot2 (optional module can save data as Wintrack case documents).
- u-Blox GPSMS1(within the Swiss Grid range): using the Import GPSMS1 command.
Eevent streams can be captured directly using the key stroke recorder built into Wintrack's Acquire Trial command.
Must path data be sampled at a constant sampling frequency to allow analysis in Wintrack?
No, Wintrack does not require a constant sampling frequency, provided that each data point comes with a time stamp. Note that Wintrack interprets the time stamp as the time when a particular event ended.
