Arena Properties command

How to define or change the properties of the arena...

There are two ways to specify or change the properties of the arena. The easy way is to load and adjust one of the three predefined types of arena: water maze, openfield, and Barnes maze. The harder way is to write your own custom setup files, which offer more flexibility for non-standard experimental setups.

  1. Select Arena Properties from the Options Menu.
  2. A dialog box appears. Press the Help button if you need instructions on how to fill in the dialog box fields. Fill in the fields that are not grayed or accept defaults and press Ok to continue. Or press Cancel to abort.
  3. Depending on the selections made in the dialog, Wintrack will open a custom setup file or load one of the predefined arena types. All currently open case documents will be affected by the new properties and redrawn to reflect the changes.

As you start Wintrack, it will automatically attempt to open the custom setup file or load the predefined arena which was active when Wintrack was closed the last time. If it fails to do so, if will automatically run the Arena Properties command, so you can specify the properties manually.
