Events

Many aspects of animal behavior cannot be recorded as mere xy position data. To record phenomena such as grooming, sniffing, righting, vocalization, etc., case data inside Wintrack case documents may contain a separate event data channel for each trial. This event channel can be used to sample up to 16 independent binary events. For each data point in the trial, each of the events can be either on or off.

During data analysis, events can either be analyzed separately or be put in relation to path data. See Inside case documents for more information on case documents and their file formats.
